The Board of Directors represents Asbury, Inc. As directors of a not-for-profit organization, board members ensure that Asbury fulfills its mission and tax-exempt purpose, as well as meets its obligations to all of its constituencies. The board is the primary force guiding Asbury to the realization of its mission to “Celebrate Life” for the older adults it serves.
Board duties include strategic planning, reviewing organizational structures and system operations, monitoring Asbury’s growth plans, ensuring transparency of audit information and other financial reports.
Asbury owes a debt of gratitude to these dedicated volunteer members who bring insight, leadership and commitment to the organization.

Guy has served in various capacities on many community organizations as a board member. Guy also received the 2015 Johnson City Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame Award.

Kingsport, TN - Five years in public accounting, five years in financial area at Eastman, 29 years at ECU – 17 years as EVP/CFO. David is active with the United Methodist Church, Kiwanis, and other community agencies and organizations.
Maryville, TN - Retired, President/CEO of the United Way of Blount County. Sandra has served in various capacities in her local Methodist church and on many local organizations and community agencies as a board member.
Kingsport, TN - Attorney with Hunter, Smith & Davis, LLP. Mike is actively involved in the legal community, previously serving as Treasurer and President of the Kingsport Bar Association.
Alcoa, TN - Owner, Designer – McClurg’s Decorating Center. Active with United Methodist Women on local, district and conference levels. Marsheine has served with local education and community agencies.
Knoxville, TN - Director of Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, Director of Development, Mountain Challenge. Cole is also a part time professor at UT and Maryville College and serves on local organizations and community agencies as a board member.
Bishop Mary Taylor
Alcoa, TN - Resident Bishop of the Holston Conference and past Resident Bishop of the South Carolina United Methodist Conference. Bishop Taylor was ordained Deacon in 1974 and Elder in 1976 and elected to the episcopacy in July 2004.
