Throughout the Asbury Place system, community and corporate leaders balance daily decisions and management practices with long-term strategic planning and focus. They are supported by volunteer board members who are among their professions’ most respected and experienced leaders.
Vice President of Operations
Marge oversees operations for a $33 million dollar budget and provides direct supervision for Executive Directors/Healthcare Administrators, Assisted Living Administrator, Regional Director Positions and contract services companies. She serves as liaison to Asbury, Inc. Board of Directors.
Regional Director of Clinical Services & Asbury Place Maryville Healthcare Administrator
Carolyn Neil is a registered nurse and licensed nursing home administrator with a 28-year career leading health care teams and organizations. She also is the founder, president and chief executive officer of Elder Advocates, a company that guides elders and their families and caregivers through the most difficult stages of life.
Carolyn has a Master’s degree in public health, health planning administration (4.0 GPA), University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee, 2003 and a Bachelor's degree in nursing, Berea College, Berea, Kentucky, 1983.
Executive Director, Asbury Place Kingsport
Sandra Brown, RN, began her career with Asbury in 1995 and has served in various clinical positions with the organization including Director of Nursing. Sandra has a long and successful career with Asbury Place.
Sandra completed her training as an LPN at Science Hill practical school of nursing in 1996. She worked as a LPN at Asbury Place Kingsport-Baysmont for several years before deciding to go back to school. Sandra subsequently graduated with her degree as an RN from Walter State Community College in 2004.
Vice President of Strategic Development
Prior to his present position Bernie served as CEO for Asbury, Inc. (Asbury Place) from 1998 to 2006 when the comprehensive management agreement was signed with The Asbury Group, a subsidiary of Asbury Communities out of Germantown, Maryland. Prior to 1998 Bernie served as CEO of The Meth-Wick Retirement Community in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for fourteen years, and prior to that as CEO of Pleasantview Home in Kalona, Iowa for seven years.
